Welcome to Beaver Creek Nursery at Briar Thicket

GET READY, GET SET, GROW…

Our beginnings…

We are a family owned and operated business that started in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1984.

We first started out solely as a landscape company and knew it was important to grow local stock for our installations, which we did. A year later, people continued to ask if they could buy plants from us directly. Long story short…our retail division was born.

Our focus is on rare, unusual, and hard to find plants for the discerning gardener. You will not find the common, everyday plants that you will find at other nurseries or the big box stores. We never collect plants from the wild. All plants we sell are nursery grown from seed, cuttings and division. We also trial our stock for hardiness, which ensures we deliver you a long-lived healthier plant. Sorry… we do not sell Fruit Trees or Annuals.

Also, being an agricultural grower, we are exempt from charging sales tax…which means more savings for you! This being the case, we do not sell, Mulch, Rock, Topsoil or Garden Art. We are just plant geeks here!

Our main concentration is on Japanese Maples, Stewartias and Native Trees, Shrubs and Perennials. However, we also grow Conifers, Camellias, Hosta, Ferns and Wildflowers.

Thank you all so much for supporting local businesses.

Great Plants

At Beaver Creek Nursery at Briar Thicket, great plants are the foundation of everything we do. Our selection is carefully curated for gardeners who value quality, longevity, and uniqueness over mass-produced offerings. We specialize in rare and hard-to-find trees, shrubs, and perennials that bring structure, texture, and year-round interest to the landscape. Every plant we sell is nursery grown from seed, cuttings, or division and is trialed for hardiness to ensure it thrives in local conditions. The result is a collection of healthy, well-established plants chosen to perform beautifully and grow gracefully for years to come.
